Outward Bound Japan will provide an immersive experience from the Outward Bound Nagano School,
offering a winter adventure amidst the majestic mountains of the Northern Japan Alps or the Myoko-Togakushi National Park mountain area.

This presents a valuable opportunity for self-discovery, allowing you to understand your current identity while envisioning your future self.
Mountain expeditions act as a measure of the collective strength within a group,
providing a comprehensive assessment of their cohesion and teamwork while intertwining the thoughts and emotions of each participant.
Confronting personal and collective challenges during group activities will uncover new possibilities,fostering personal growth.
Embark on this adventurous journey to challenge yourself amid the snow-capped mountains of Japan.
The course will be conducted in bilingual Japanese and English, welcoming international participants.

■Dates: Friday March 1 – Thursday March 7, 2024  (7days)

■Places: Based in OBJ Nagano School (Otani Village, Nagano Prefecture) and the surrounding Northern Alps.

Travel: by public transportation

■The Leaving Place

Leaving Time: Thursday March 7, 13:50(1:50pm)
*The above meeting and dismissal times are based on the time schedule that allows participants from the Tokyo metropolitan area and Kansai area to leave in the morning and return home by nightfall.

■About Drive your car
*You can also join the activity with your personal vehicle.
Participants are welcome to drive their own cars; however, studless tires are mandatory for navigating the deep snow.
Parking facilities are provided at the OBJ Nagano School.

■ Capacity
8 persons with a minimum number of participants: 5
(We will confirm and contact you 1 month prior to the tour) 

■ Conditions for participation
Participants must be at least 16 years old, in excellent health, and physically capable of carrying 15kg of luggage on their backs while walking approximately
10 km for around 7 hours. Proficiency in English or Japanese at a daily conversational level is essential.
*International participants are required to have “overseas travel insurance” for enrollment.

■Participation fee:
128,000 yen (including 10% consumption tax )
Included in the participation fee: guided program, 18meals, lodging, facility use, 1 hot spring, group equipment rental fee, and transportation during the program.

■Cancellation Fees
In case of cancellation, the following cancellation fees will apply:
If cancellation notice is received by the Association after registration
■ 60 days to 15 days prior to the start of the course: 12,800 Japanese Yen
■ 14 days to 3days prior to the start of the course: 38,400 Japanese Yen
■ 2 days prior to the start of the course, and on the course start date or later: 100% of the course registration fee
*In case of cancellation up to 61 days prior to the start of the course, the participant will be responsible for the bank transfer fee for the refund.

■ What to bring
Professional tools required for this course will be lent by us.
Please bring your own personal clothing and other personal belongings.
The main items are,
・Waterproof winter wear (jacket and pants)Gore-Tex is best.
・Fleece sweater
・Down jacket
・2 sets of top and bottom underwear for mountain use
・Winter Mountaineering boots (waterproof shoes appropriate for activities on the snow)
・Two pairs of winter socks (thick wool or polyester material)
・A winter hat (knit hat that covers ears, etc.)
・Sunglasses ・Sunscreen
・Lunch on the first day
*Rain wear can be rented (3,000 yen) /Big sizes (larger than XL) are not available for rent.
